Examining our life in the lens of truth

Through the history we are molded by different theories in life that have been a greatly influenced our disposition and decisions in life, especially when you are a person brought up by the secular arena of learning. I had heard about the Greek corners of any learning institution even in a religious based learning institution, explicitly or implicitly.

So how do these things affect the view of life? Obviously, the impact is very cunning for us to understand. Our learning realm has been using those philosophies to lead us to independence. Independence? So it is good? Yes! Surely it is good but there is far even greater than that. These views, though promoting camaraderie, are depriving us to become cooperative to others, to the wise of making oneself greater than anybody else. To elaborate my position on this matter, I will be using the concept of Socrates as a model, in how the greater scheme has been developed.

Socrates reported that as a philosopher that no one is wiser than you. This would to be enough a clue for you to understand the point of view of Socrates; you cannot depend on others and the ONLY person that could help is yourself. If this notion be true, what would then the role of your family, friends, mentor, and especially God?

Socrates’ view is to assist anyone who will take his principles to have the so called genuine self-knowledge, even if it would result to aggravate others. Again Socrates goal is to understand everything that would help oneself to attain this supreme intellect. If this would happen to anyone, which individual will have the power, authority and glory of life and this would lead to gross ego or pride that will never accept any correction or any criticism. Though, this person will accept the opposition but deep inside the person grudged and will try to probe that the things he/she done is correct. Again this would nullify the humility that promotes peace and unity.

It would be a delightful thing to live a life that always giving way to others, to live a humble life because our life here on earth will never last. I was so touched by the Lord Jesus Christ when He teach in His Words that live a peaceable life with others as possible. Because the thing that really counts is the dash (19xx – 20xx) on your gravestone. The question would be, what did you do to that dash, do you live it by your own sake or you ever consider others?

Finding true virtue

To quote the question of Socrates: “how can we ever learn what we do not know?” he added that “Either we already know what we are looking for, in which case we don't need to look, or we don't know what we're looking for, in which case we wouldn't recognize it if we found it” The thing is that we as a human have a nature of just finding things which meet our interest.

Although, we can’t learn everything at least make yourself aware of the things unknown, especially the things that truly count. The trend nowadays is to become wealthy and famous, and because of this majority of the people is thriving for a way to have these things even if forsaking their virtue in life.
All of us experienced the sudden realization of truth of something of which we had been unaware and ignorant, and we supposed it that we learned something new rather than emphasizing on the impact that would bring to the individual. We focus on the worth value of the thing not on the eternal impact that would bring to life. If it is worthless in terms of physical value then people neglect it but if the thing that he/she thinks that would bring him/her wealth then it will be placed on the treasure box of his/her heart.

Because of the trend we tend to neglect the things that don’t apply to us even it is for the sake of his/her on morality. Some people chose to use trickery or other scheme just to have the wants in life. This greatly affects our society nowadays, some people think that they will have what they want if they will outlast other people but the truth is we can only have what we want if we can outlast our weaknesses not other people. Again, mind your own business!
Finding true virtue is a process and it involves a good relationship with others. It must be “Learning from one another” process not “Boasting to one another” process. Not to be religious but I advised it to you that if you want to have the true virtue while achieving thing in life then have God in your life and place him in the throne of your heart because in God true virtues burst like a fountain. Be aware of this, not family, nor education, money, fame, or even anything but in God you can find the true virtue in life.

How to oppose the opposites

This article will be basing on the argument on the cyclical interchange which implies that everything that exists has its own exact opposite side. By having that in mind then we can easily identify the things that we have and their opposite, contradiction and opposition this would help us in having our plans for the future. If we plan for something, it is important to know the pros and cons because this would determine the outcome of it and most of all we can prepare for the coming struggle if we implement our plan.

Hot comes from cold and cold from hot and that is, hot things are just cold things that have heated up. In a similarly way, if your fun will bring tremendous heat to you or to others then it is important to make it sure that the heat will never cool down. And if the heat will gone out then it is the point that your plan is unsuccessful. It is very important thou to build the momentum, so that you can ensure the success of your plan.

So make sure you gather enough fuel to sustain the heat!
Nevertheless, a person who is awake is just the opposite of a person who was asleep but then awoke, while a person who is asleep is just the exact opposite of a person who is awake but then gone asleep. So if you want to be successful in life then you need to be determined that your plan will always in progress in don’t let it go asleep.

How far do you know about Justice?

From the history of human existence to the first crime recorded [The murder of Abel in the hands of Cain his brother], the cry for justice has been inquired throughout the time and even until now. However, do we really understand about justice? Note that this article will be talking about the deeper sense of justice, the inevitable and TRUE justice not the justice of this corrupted world. Please don’t be mislead of me or any other but let your analytic and critical thinking judge the things I will present in this article. You are always free to comment below if you see this article is irrelevant and unwarranted.

Ever since we had known about books that are defining and elaborating about what justice is. Like the book of the Greek Philosopher Socrates named The Republic where the Book I contains the Socratic dialogue on the nature of what justice is. This dialogue involved the criticism, rejection, and yet the proposal to define and emphasize the true definition of what justice is. But again, as always, this book is basing the topic on argumentative approach and thwarting every opposing assertion through the use of mere intellect. But true justice is always been cradled by humility and a savor of love not on pride and discord.

We may find the notion of “Justice delayed is justice denied” around and yes the notion is true if and only if this is viewed by a worldly concept but true justice is always served the penalty of the violation committed. Now, the true justice can only and only found in God. It is an ironic thing that in a court here on earth a suspects, victims, or witnesses pledge to God and putting placing one hand on the Bible to pledge to tell the truth and nothing but the truth, but in the proceeding we can’t avoid lies and pretensions negating the truth just for winning the case.
Whether you like it or not, true justice will be implemented definite. And even though we find justice over a crime here on earth, it will be repeated in the court of God where everything will be presented and nothing is hidden. So if we cry for justice then we can’t find it here on earth then don’t you worry God is compiling all the evidence. And surely true justice will be served.

How far did you go?

Plato, a well-know Greek Philosopher at all time, of course not before him. He loved to use dialogues to support his argument not only to probe his position but to evaluate any significant notions. Plato also pointed out that philosophy is not to be use as a tool for making argument or even for counter-argument but to be used in life accordingly as to plan and decide for the best one sake and others. But it becomes, however, an arsenal to depend and to correct any mistake and also to thwart anybody that will become a barrier to his/her goal, nowadays.

Philosophy is not an evil thing or equally good but it depends to the person in how he/she utilize the benefit of using philosophy in life. It will turn evil if it is used to always opposed others and will be used as a agent of correcting or justifying his/her mistake. On the other, philosophy in life will be a good thing to have, if use in strategizing the proper life without aggravating others. But sadly, even the way in teaching philosophy in school has been becoming quite odd and to the extent of inculcating different view of life, like teaching the theory of communism, or even negating the existence of a Holy God that would result in a society of immorality and lawlessness. And if you look deeply to the trends nowadays this is likely to happen. As is written in the Scriptures, immoral actions will explode to the non-believing God society. Such as same-sex marriage, divorce, abortion, crime, and any evil act that drastically increase year by year. The usage of drugs for teens has heightened to the highest level and I believe that sooner or later this will overwhelm any scale in life. Acceptance of vulgar action such as dressing improperly, kissing in public, and publicly displaying of one’s affection has alarmed our moral community. And the worse, the multimedia becomes the great tool in uplifting this movement of immorality. In general, this will root to the twisted philosophy of life that life is about the things that satisfy the needs and wants of oneself even if it will nullify the moral standard.

The question that needs to be answer now is how far did you go in letting this twisted philosophy in life in invading your innocent character? You can’t deny that you are brought up to those philosophies in life and even me, I was trained and mentored by those philosophies but I didn’t let it mold my character and attitude. Nevertheless, you can start the change and challenge this generation to change also. As it is said that the change we need will begin to yourself.

Society that we formed

It is seemingly that societies are always formed for a particular purpose whether it is based on one particular idealism or derived from a system of beliefs. No man is an island because all human beings are not self-sufficient and need for a companion to establish one’s goal in life and no one working alone can get hold of anything of the legitimate necessities of life.

However, so that we can resolve this difficulty, we get together and form a community and will soon become a large society for the purpose of a mutual achievement of a common goal. This can only succeed if the individuals in a society will work together to become more efficient to upheld the goal and also individual also must be focused in their own strength, it must harmonize to the other strength in order that there will be synchronization and avoiding a conflict. Thus, the separation of functions and specialization of labor are the keys to the effectiveness of the establishment of a strong and capable society.

The downfall of our society nowadays is becoming more drastic than before. It turns out that the society that built before by our forefathers which they founded in moralistic and conservative way, has become corrupt in many ways. Though, to be fair to other individual who always make an action for preserving the society, sadly the majority of the member of our society has become the corrupting agents that degrade the value of becoming morally stable. Even the Church that supposed to stand up for the cause has been swarmed by issues of neglect and abandonment and this is the result of the lack of acknowledgment of the society to the Church(I’m talking about the Church built by God not of man).
